Meet Timothy

Tucson, United States of America

I am a current professional road cyclist and heavily supported gravel cyclist. Hard to call a gravel cyclist pro, but I have better support there than any road team prior. I help run demos for Lauf as part of my gravel interest and have been riding and racing for almost 10 years now. I've ridden all over the world and with people from all different nationalities. I am able to communicate and connect with people from all different walks of life because cycling was actually something I just stumbled upon myself from a very different path prior. I am the kind of rider that prefers training over racing, but racing is what has provided me with the support and following that excuses more training! I am in the transitional phase where I am racing less and being more particular and finding out what else I can do to keep riding and staying within the industry. VeloGuide seems like a nice transition into the realm of encouraging community and cycling culture in the way I have been pushing to all my supporters with my Gravel Project. I have 11 bicycles in my house right now. I also have a close working connection with the best shop in town, Sabino Cycles.

My Favorite Ride

Tucson is the off-season cycling Mecca of the United States. With a desert environment at 3,000ft in town heading up to pine trees and sometimes snow at 9,000ft up Mt Lemmon, it has become the winter destination for cyclists all over the world. Beyond that there are group rides every single day of then 100-200 riders. Tucson is also week and many more features whether you are riding MTB, CX/Gravel, or Road, and I ride them all. You have Redington Road for a full day of gravel, Gates Pass for a beautiful road challenge and gateway to Saguro National Park, Kitts Peak for another Mountain Challenge, Sweetwater and Fantasy Island for MTBing. Tucson is also the perfect location for foodies with the Mexican cuisine scene and those that like to partake in the local libations with new breweries popping up frequently.
