Cycling is my passion, I am a CAT3 road racer with USA Cycling and I absolutely love riding my bicycle with other pro's and newbies. I love learning from each other, both newbies and pro's.
I have ridden all over the world, Paris, Rome, Tuscany, the USA and every ride is like the first epic accomplishment.
My goal is to offer the best experience for other cyclists from the beginner to the pro. I have my PhD in exercise and nutritional sciences, my focus is as a cycling coach and I do specialize in “special populations”.
OK, LET'S ROLL...
Can’t wait to book a ride with Lisa. It’s nice to have a guide who can talk about more than just wattage and tire pressures. She is definitely one of a kind, and a great ambassador for cycling.
And a whole lotta of love in all the right places.
My wife and I met Lisa in October 2017 at the Hincapie Gran Fondo, Greenville, SC in the early morning before the race start. She was like a Good Samaritan out of the blue! As it was my first big riding event, she helped me get up to the start line and made me feel relaxed amidst many expert and pro riders. Later, at the post-ride VIP party that evening she chatted with us some more and helped inspire me to continue with my cycling after more than 20 years off of the bike. I am sure her same personality, spirit, and cycling knowledge conveys into all she does as a certified Velo Guide.
I am not a cyclist, in the least - most of my cycling history, if one could call it that, would be in early childhood. Yet a lot of my friends encouraged me to try cycling, for health reasons; physical, emotional and, to an extent, spiritual. My problem was these same friends had neither the time, or patience, to ride with AND teach a novice in the aspects of cycling (gear shifting, clip-shoes and so on). Luckily one of them referred me to Lisa.
I can honestly say it was one of the most enjoyable rides I have had, to date. Of all of the reasons, the most important ones to me were:
1) she was very knowledgeable and a great instructor; she took the time to explain the basics of cycling to me, such as not only how to shift but WHEN to prepare to shift as well as the importance of your seat position, hand position and cadence.
2) she allowed me to set the pace, making it challenging but not overbearing.
3) throughout the entire ride, she motivated me by setting achievable mile markers as well as educating me, as we rode, on the various visible landmarks, fauna and wildlife of Oklahoma.
It was an excellent experience made all the better by a professional rider and I cannot extend my recommendation for her strongly enough.
Lisa took me on a 5 hour bike tour through Medicine Park with a break at the Holy City, you must experience it to believe it. I am a Cali girl and don't really do country scarcity because it frankly frightens me. Lisa is a great conversationalist and listener. I am not a "strong rider" some might even say I am slow but Lisa made me feel like a pro and gave me the "VIP" treatment, she took me to Anns Kountry Kitchen for their famous buffalo burger and we finished our day with a Matcha Green Tea from a quaint little place that I don't recall the name of, Lisa did not include the after dinner in her ride fee which made me feel more like a friend than a client.
If you are looking for one of the most memorable rides of your life, then you definitely need to spend a day on the bike with Lisa! Not only is she an accomplished cyclist, but she is one of the most positive people you will ever meet you in your life! She is the kind of person that makes dreams come true for people and, whatever your situation in life, spending time with Lisa while on a ride will do wonders for you. She is a diamond in every sense of the word!
Lisa is one of the nicest people I have ever met. You will thoroughly enjoy riding with her. I will be back!
Lisa is a wonderful guide, and an asset to cyclists of all skill levels. She is very knowledgeable of the Lawton/Ft Sill Area, as well as the areas of SW Oklahoma and North Texas. As a new rider, I couldn’t have asked for a better guide to help me navigate the realm of cycling. Her experience and knowledge the area’s landmarks/history combine for an amazing experience. Can’t wait to ride with her again!
We started our journey from Target on Quannah Parker Highway in Lawton, a busy highway, I am 74 years young and she was very inspiring and encouraging as we rode to "Deyo" only a 10 mile ride in total but it took my slow legs over 2 hours, 2 falls, and a nice surprise is Lisa carries CPR Certification which thankfully I didn't need but I did require her first aid kit on our first ride. I hadn't been on a bike in 50 years!
Lisa encouraged me the whole way. I have booked with Lisa for over a year now and she has been patient enough that we now frequently ride through the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, Medicine Park, and the Holy City. Thank you VeloGuide and Thank you Lisa Christiansen.
I have ridden the Champs-Elysées in Paris, France during the Tour De France with other "Donnons Des Elles Au Vélos"
One of my favorite rides is Iron Horse Bicycle Classic in Durango, Colorado.
Riding through the Wichita Mountains wildlife refuge is one of Oklahoma‘s greatest attractions for cyclists from all over the world, climbing Mount Scott is an epic experience, it is one of the 50 toughest climbs in the United States and it does live up to its reputation. When you get to the top Scott it is like nothing you’ve ever experienced, it is breathtaking with a sense of accomplishment.
While riding through the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge experience the majestic Holy City of the Wichitas, the Holy City of the Wichitas is the home of the longest running easter pageant. Founded in 1926 by Reverend Anthony Mark Wallock you will find an outstanding breakstop to rejuveninate and enjoy the peaceful 66 acres of prarie dogs, longhorn, and Brett the Buffalo along with his bison friends.
