Born and raised in Wisconsin, I have a passion for the beautiful outdoors the Midwest has to offer. And I love being on my bike; year round! Everything from casual urban commutes, to 100 mile road rides and even a sub freezing snowy winter ride, everyone knows I am happiest when on two wheels. I really enjoy creating fun, adventerous routes while meeting new people so I can show others our amazing city.
Being active and involved in the cycling community is important to me. Milwaukee's cycling scene is diverse and impressive and I can't wait to share this with you!
Kelly knows how to keep the party going. Perfect for long, casual, fun days in the saddle.
I really enjoy riding with Kelly. She is thoughtful, prepared, kind and fun! She gives her commitments 100% and always with a smile! Kelly is a really experienced cyclist and is equally comfortable riding through the city to get coffee, completing a century ride, and racing cyclocross. She is bad*ss!
Had such fun riding with Kelly in Milwaukee. Great guide, super friendly and knew all the cool coffee spots. I am looking forward to coming back this summer and doing a little beer tour as well as a more epic road ride!
My favorite type of ride is when I get to be with friends to explore the various parts of our area. Milwaukee (and it's northern and southern suburbs) has a beautiful lake front and a well connected system of paved trails that roll through various parks, beer gardens and urban districts. There are plenty of options to stop for a savory snack, beverage, or an excellent photo along the way. A sweet spot for a ride is about 65 miles with a stop for a coffee and snack midway and a beer and burger at the end!
I currently live in Riverwest, an eclectic neighborhood in Milwaukee, with my Fiance and our doggie. I enjoy cooking and entertaining friends, visiting new restaurants and I love to travel.....especially when it involves getting on a bike. I am also passionate about my work, where I manage an Ultimate Trampoline Park as my full time job.
My proudest cycling achievement was the 2017 Riverwest 24, a 24-hour urban bike race. I stayed up for 40 hours to ride 44 laps around 1 neighborhood; which totalled 216 miles and over 8,000 feet of climbing. I completed 14 bonus checkpoints, got my second tattoo, and powered through 1 mental breakdown to arrive solidly in 2nd place in a race I said I’d never do!
I currently belong to the Milwaukee Bicycle Company Racing Team, a coed team that mostly rides (pretends to race!) in Cyclocross and Mountain Bike races. We are committed to showing others that racing is about having fun and encouraging new comers (especially women) to the sport of Cyclocross. In addition, I belong to Cadence, A Milwaukee Women's Cycling Group https://cadencemke.com/ and The Ladies Revolution https://www.facebook.com/ladiesrevolution414/.
