I am the sales manager at freedom Bike Shop and the owner of Smugglers Smokehouse BBQ in Penticton B.C. So it goes without saying that I LOVE riding bikes and enjoying good eats!!
I am lucky to have both good riding and good food in my life. I feel that both are things that can connect people of differing cultures no matter what. Biking and food are universal languages.
As a PMBIA certified mountain bike instructor as well as an ambassador for the "Ryan Leech Connection" AND an avid road cyclist, I LOVE getting out on the bike no matter the ride choice. Hit me up when you are in town and let's play bikes!
Josh is an awesome dude to ride with, always pushing for more fun. He knows all the best riding spots, and where to find the best food in town. Highly recommended to all types of riders!
This guy knows his stuff! I'm from Penticton and he took me to places I'd never seen! Plus, he knew a ton of stuff about the area, like the history and loads of other interesting facts. He knew the best spot for a coffee before we left and a beer/grub when we got back. He encouraged me on the climbs and we cruised together on the flats. It was a blast and I'll definitely be doing that ride again!
I have many "favourite" rides in this area. When it comes to road riding, out to Indian Rock, the Skaha lake loop, the Apex mountain climb, White lake loop or the Peach hill Summerland loop are some gems. When out on the mountain bike I love riding in the 3 Blind mice network but also enjoy getting out on any of the trails in the South Okanagan.
I like to keep it simple and just enjoy the small things in life. I truly enjoy spending my time with good people, riding bikes, eating great food, drinking good coffee and tasting awesome beers! Luckily Penticton is incredible for offering the best of all of this. The Penticton area has a huge selection of fantastic road rides and even more options if mountain biking is more your thing. The road rides in the area include everything from nice mellow spins with incredible views to leg burning climbs that are sure to get your heart pounding. You can even choose from a number of routes that have been used for international competitions like Grand Fondos or Ironman.
Once we finish playing bikes there are coutless places to eat fantastic food and taste wicked beers, wines and spirits. Penticton has numerous restaurants, multiple breweries, endless wineries and even a few distilleries to hang out at. No matter your preference Penticton has an option that will knock your socks off!
Once you have exhausted your legs and filled your stomach, you just have to make time to hangout on one of our incredible beaches and rejuvinate.
Sounds like a bad time eh?
Penticton should absolutely be on your bucket list of places to visit and ride a bike!
