Not a bike industry insider. Not a former pro. Just a guy who loves to ride bike. We have many great scenic roads around the Lake Geneva area that I would be happy to share with you, along with my local knowledge of the high traffic roads to avoid.
Dennis has ridden with Bici Bucerias and VeloGuide on a few occasions as a customer. He is super fun guy to ride with and a cycling enthusiast!
My favorite ride is from Woodstock (Illinois) around Geneva Lake (Wisconsin) with a stop for coffee in Fontana, Lake Geneva, or back at the historic Woodstock square. It's a 60 mile ride with 2,400 feet of climbing. Most of the route is through flat to slightly rolling farmland. The notable climbing occurs on short, steep hills along the lakeshore.
My posted routes include rides around Geneva Lake that range from around 25 miles to 40 miles. The routes can be modified or expanded as desired. The posted routes both start in Lake Geneva as that is the location of most of the resort hotels, but they can be modified to start in Fontana, Williams Bay, or Lake Delavan. For those without a car or looking for a vacation alternative, Woodstock can be reached using the Metra Train from Chicago. From there we can do my favorit long ride around Lake Geneva or another custom tour.
