I grew up in Australia where my cycling career began, and since 2009, it has continued in the UK. I am now a British citizen, and am experienced in racing and touring on mountain, BMX and road bikes. I have done a huge amount of producing and managing events and I understand what makes a great cycling event or tour from having seen and experienced it from both sides. I have been on too many councils and boards to list, with a variety of roles from chairperson to consultant at the National level and was the Australian commissaire of the year in 1999. My cycling career came good in 2007 when I was crowned the Australian Veteran Road Cycling Champion! I still love cycling and spend any leisure time I have on the bike, whether it be a mountain bike, road bike, shopping bike or just out for a spin. If you want to know more, just ask over a glass of beer!
I had an awesome ride with Chris a couple of weeks ago. We started in Richmond and did a 90km loop through Surrey, including a climb up Box Hill (even better than the Zwift version)! We cycled through some beautiful scenery, and Chris had great commentary along the way. Being a North American, it was also helpful to have Chris guide me in riding on the left side of the road and through all of the roundabouts! I would definitely ride again with Chris, hopefully on the Windsor Loop next time.
Chris was my guide in late October. We toured a couple of royal parks in London, and visited a castle where Henry VIII lived with his wives. Super handy having a local guide keep me safe on London's streets and he set me up with a fantastic road bike. I'll definitely ride with Chris on my next trip to London. I'd love to do his tour to Windsor Castle.
A current favorite of mine is the Windsor Castle and Windsor Great Park tour of London. Its a fabulous route, just under 100kms which showcases the beautiful Thames River, Windsor Castle, and Windsor Great Park.
I specialise in the Surrey, Kent, and Berkshire regions, and my rides will help you explore these counties, visiting popular cycling cafe's. You'll get to see amazing vistas and lanes less travelled by the general cyclist. You can choose one of my many routes or decide on a Guide's Choice Tour, where I'll create a ride that involves any popular regional destination you're keen to see!
We meet at, and depart from, the oldest bike shop in London, Pearson Cycles, which is in East Sheen, just outside Richmond Park. In the heart of cycling in the UK, if you need to rent a bike, I'll have it ready for you here.
