If you're seeking a diverse two-wheeled adventure, extraordinary cycling experiences await you on the Big Island of Hawaii. Athletes can push themselves up steep 14,000-foot volcanoes with impressive views, or feel the wind whip through their hair as they charge downhill toward crystal blue coastlines.

Wherever you choose to cruise, there’s no lack of beautiful scenery. From waves of black lava to luscious rainforests, there’s an overabundance of beautiful vistas. So whether you’re a triathlete, or a Sunday cruiser, theres something for everyone and local VeloGuide Gytis is here to show you just what we mean.

Gytis is currently living in Hilo and has been cycling  for 5 years. Two of those years have been spent training and racing on the Big Island. "I love it here and would love to show people the incredible beauty of this island!"

One of the favorites;
A 20 mile out & back route From Hilo To Pepeekeo via the backroads. Some of the most stunning jungle roads you can experience on the Big Island of Hawaii. Passing endless waterfalls, streams and palm trees. Not a dull moment goes by through these beautiful windy back roads. This route also has a great food/smoothie/coffee shop called "Whats Shakin". It's located perfectly at the half way point of this ride.

"I have many hobbies but cycling just happens to be at the top! I also run, swim, surf and skateboard. I love love the outdoors!  I'm currently training for an Ironman 70.3 in North Kohala here on the Big Island. Also a huge benefit of riding with me is you will access to my coaching knowledge. I've been coaching cyclists and triathletes for 1 year now. I hope I can pass some training and safety tips on to you while riding!"

Gytis loves Hawaii not just for its epic roads and beauty for bike riding but he loves the culture and the way of life here. He has been a local for two years learning everything he can about the Hawaiian culture. He can help you understand the flow of the island so you can have the best possible experience here.

"Gytis took my friend Kiley and I to the local Hawaiian farmer's market for the most delicious local papayas and mangos, to black sands beaches to see sea turtles and devour delicious fresh coconuts, and through the most incredible scenery I have ever seen overlooking vast rolling hills and greenery, to glistening bright blue oceans and rock faces. Kiley and I did ask for a challenge, and Gytis encouraged and motivated us to get through some steep areas. He was a wonderful cycling coach and tour guide. I am so grateful for the experience! Still stoked about it! Hope to go again with Gytis in the future!"
